Bali’s Biggest Clean Up is an annual event by One Island One Voice to raise awareness of the plastic pollution problem in Bali. Started in 2016, Bali’s Biggest Clean Up is the event that embraces all the people, organizations, businesses, and government bodies to come together and make Bali a better place. This year, Bali’s Biggest Clean Up 2023 held on Sunday, 19 February 2023, with 156 volunteers from 12 hotels under Archipelago International in Bali.

With Bali's population growth and thriving tourism industry, the island is struggling to manage its waste. In recent years, Bali has been facing environmental challenges such as beach erosion, pollution, and plastic waste. Bali’s Biggest Clean Up 2023 is a concerted effort to address these challenges and promote sustainable tourism practices.

Over the past six years, the movement has gathered over 70,000 people in 560 locations in Bali and prevented 203 tons of inorganic waste from entering the oceans.

Bali’s Biggest Clean Up 2023 is being organized in partnership with local communities, businesses, and the government. Volunteers will gather at Padang Galak Beach, Bali to clean up plastic waste and other debris as well as to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable behavior.

"We are delighted to be part of Bali’s Biggest Clean Up 2023," said John Flood, President and CEO of Archipelago International. "As part of our corporate social responsibility, we believe that it is our duty to give back to the communities where we operate. Archipelago has implemented several sustainable initiatives such as no plastic water bottles in all guest rooms in all of our hotels and several programs are in place across all areas that reduce the use of paper and other disposables. We hope that this event will inspire others to join us in our efforts to preserve Bali's natural beauty to share with the tourists visiting the island and the future generation."
