STAAH has partnered with Stripe to offer a seamless payment gateway through STAAH booking engine, enabling you to meet the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) regulations
What is PSD2?
On 14 September 2019, authenticating online payments will be introduced in the European Economic Area (EEA).
This new regulation is designed to better regulate the payment market by making payments more secure (through Strong Customer Authentication (SCA).

When does PSD2 apply?
SCA is only required when both the acquirer (the payment service provider that charges a credit card) and the issuer (the bank that issues the guest credit card) are located within the EEA.
What does this mean for STAAH Properties?
Essentially these changes will have more impact if you do not currently have a payment gateway integration with your booking engine. The new regulations require credit card details to be two-factor authenticated at the time of collection to enable them to be charged and this can only be processed through a suitable payment gateway. If you do not have a payment gateway, you can still collect credit card details as you have been, however, you will not be able to charge the card without the customer being present hence your risk in the event of a no show has increased.
How does it work with STAAH/ Stripe?
Full payment will be processed at the time of booking. Monies will be posted directly into your bank account from the provider we work with (Stripe).
Which bookings will be charged?
Payment will be processed for bookings via STAAH and STAAHMAX booking engine.
Charge Card feature which is currently available for STAAH Instant will be automatically enabled to allow you to process payments for OTA bookings with Virtual Credit Card.
