CLEANING STAIRCASES, STAFF ELEVATORS AND PANTRYS

Guest Expectation:

I shouldn’t have to see back of house areas, but on occasions when doors are left open, I expect the back of house to be as clean as front of house areas.



Why is this task important for you and our guests?

  1. It is important for me to have a clean working area.

  2. Items from the Pantry get delivered to the guest room, this items need to be clean.

Preparation 






  • Prepare broom, dust pan, mop, bucket and cleaning cloth as well as glass cleaner, metal polisher and general purpose cleaner.


  1. What do I need to clean the pantry, the staircase and the service lifts?




 

Clean fire exit and staircase 



  • Use the broom to sweep the staircase then the mop to clean it.  .

  • Clean doors and frames and fire exit signs.

  • Clean railings, switches, lights and fire extinguishers with a damp cloth. If there are stubborn stain, spray some general purpose cleaner and scrub with scrubbing pad.

  • Clean stains and dirt on the wall.

  • Clean the wall with damp cloth to release dust. 

  • Polish metal with metal polisher.

Staff elevator, Service lifts


  • Clean the control plate and lighting.

  • Sweep and mop the floor from inside to outside. 

  • Brush the floor if necessary with hot water and cleaner.

  • If there are stubborn stains, spray general purpose cleaner and scrub with scrubbing pad.

 Pantry


  • Clean the pantry door and frame with damp cloth.

  • Clean the shelving with a wet cloth and dry the shelves with a dry cloth.

  • Clean the glass sterilizer and the counter.

  • Take out all items before cleaning.

  • Take a glass cleaner for the glass door. 

  • Broom and mop the Pantry floor.

  • Brush the floor with water and dry with a clean cloth.

Report defects


  • To report immediately of any maintenance problem is found while cleaning.
