Foreign Currencies Exchange

Objective :

Foreign Currency exchange service will be available 24 hours at the Front Desk Reception, with exchange rates for the major currencies clearly visible and updated on a daily basis, or more frequently if situation warrants.


An exchange receipt will indicate customer’s name, room number, date, amount, currency – equivalent local value, and will be produced for all foreign currency changes.



Procedure :


  1. Only registered in-house foreign guest is allowed to exchange foreign currencies ** for IDR;


  1. ** Currencies allowed to be exchanged at our counter are US$, HK$, Japanese¥, EuroЄ, British Sterling £, Australian$, Singapore$ (any changes will be further advised from time to time);


  1. The maximum exchange allowed is equivalent to approximately IDR 1.000.000,- per day per guest;


  1. Guest passport, must be presented to record all the necessary details required by the Foreign Exchange Bureau;


  1. Kindly also make a photocopy of the guest passport.


  1. No foreign currencies are allowed as the mode of transactions at the restaurant outlets.


  1. If staff is not familiar or unsure with the looks of the currencies, assistance must be requested.  If no assistance can be provided, do not change the currencies, but politely decline the exchange or offer the nearest bank available in the vicinity.


  1. Any exchange receipts cancelled due to mistakes etc, both the 1st and second copy must be included in the bank-in for that day-attached to the correct foreign exchange receipt with Cashier’s Remittance Envelope sent to General Cashier via the drop-safe.


  1. FOREIGN EXCHANGE DAILY REPORT (Attachment 1) is required to be finished daily.


General Cashier:

  1. A complete file of foreign exchange receipts is to be maintained by the General Cashier .The General Cashier must ensure that the foreign exchange receipts are filed numerically to ensure that no copy is missing.



  1. Each day the General Cashier will deposit the foreign exchange currency along with all other receipts for the day and file supporting documents accordingly


  1. Any discrepancies must immediately be reported to the Director of Finance & Business Support or ADoFBS. 


Please be advised that NO foreign currencies to be held as “deposits” and returned to guest upon check out. Foreign currencies accepted must be exchanged to IDR and posted into our front office system as cash deposit.
