HOW TO CLEAN THE LOBBY

Guest Expectation: I expect the hotel lobby to be impressive. I expect it to be clean and the ambiance enhanced by pleasant people and surrounds such as music, candles and flowers in accordance with the design. I expect to be greeted in the Lobby.

Preparation


  • Prepare the vacuum cleaner, dust cloth, furniture wax, high-speed polisher with pad, rubbish bag, soft brush, window squeegee and general- purpose cleaner.

  • Put “Work in progress sign” in place.



  1. Why do I need to prepare all this items?

  2. Is this sign really important?


Pick up trash


  • Collect trash from the rubbish bins.


  • Empty all cigarette butts from ashtrays and wipe clean with a damp cloth.


  1. Do ashtrays really need to be clean?

  2. How frequently should they be checked?

  3. How can I empty ashtrays? Can I use gloves?

Polish metal

  • Use a cleaning cloth to polish metal parts.



Clean plant /flower pots

  • Pick up cigarette butts from pots by using a pair of tongs.

  • You may have to dust leaves if living in a dusty environment.



  1. Why do cigarette butts end up in plant pots?

Vacuum wall panels(Check if necessary)   

  • Attach the brush head to the cleaner and vacuum the wall panels.

  • Ensure wall panels are free from dusts.



  1. Do I need to vacuum first before I start polishing the marble?

 Safe Deposit Room


  • Take the vacuum cleaner and vacuum the Deposit Room.

  • Ensure the reception desk in this Room is dust free. Polish the wood.



  1. Is the Deposit Room part of the Lobby

  2. Why do I need to polish the reception in the room?

 Reception and Concierge Desk


  • Ensure these desks are dust free and polished.

  • Metal as metal wood as wood.

Back of FO

  • Ensure back of front office is clean vacuumed and dusted.



Windows or doors made of glass 

  • Ensure all glass parts as windows and doors are cleaned.




Clean marble floor


  • Ensure the marble floor is polished regularly.



Sitting area/Lobby lounge


  • Ensure all cushions and sitting areas are vacuumed or shampoo if necessary.




General


  • Detailed cleaning the lobby should be done during the night or at off peak times.  

  • Routine cleaning should be done at regular intervals throughout the day to maintain the cleanliness standards.

  • Ensure you use the correct cleaning agents on each different material.



Report defects

  • Report maintenance problems immediately if  found while cleaning
