HOW TO INSPECT A GUEST BATHROOM

Guest Expectation

I expect the bathroom to be meticulous and cleaned daily.  Unclean bathrooms reflect poorly on the whole of the Housekeeping operation.

STEPS	HOW/ STANDARDS	TRAINING QUESTIONS
Check	Check the cleanliness of the bathroom and ensure that the equipment and facilities are   functioning. Ensure that no dust, no hair and no stains are on the floor, wall, glass door and drainage.	What do I have to overall check?
Shower area	Check and ensure that the shower-head and taps are clean and free from water marks and stains. Ensure the soap dishes area are clean. Check and ensure that shower tub is clean and free from hair, dirt and stain.	Why do I have to check the shower head? Can the shower head be full of lime stone? Why does the shower tub need to be free of hair?
Bath tub area	Check taps, handrail and stopper to ensure that they are clean, shiny and working properly. Check clothesline and ensure it is clean and functioning. Check towels to ensure they are clean and properly folded. Ensure mirror is clean and free of watermarks and stains.	How do I make the metal items shining? How can I clean the cloth line? Why do we need a cloth line? Why do the towels need to be properly folded? How can I clean the mirror?
Vanity area	Check hand basin and counter to ensure they are free from hair, dirt and stains. Ensure the taps are clean and shiny and working properly. Check towels to ensure that they are clean and folded correctly. Check amenities to ensure that quantity is correct and they are correctly placed.	Why does the shower tub need to be free of hair? How do I check if the tubs are properly working? Why do the towels need to be properly folded? What happens if amenities are missing?
Waste bin	Check waste bin to ensure there is no trash and the bin is clean.	Why does the waste bin need to be clean?
Toilet area	Check toilet bowl inside and outside to ensure that it is clean and free from stains.  Check the tank to ensure that it is clean. Check toilet-roll holder, ensure that it is  Clean and that toilet paper is replenished.	Why does the toilet bowl need to be really clean? Why do I need to check the tank? When do I have to replenish the towel roll?
Bathroom floor	Check floor to ensure that it is clean and free from hair, dirt and stains.  Check bathroom door and stopper to ensure that they are clean and in working properly.	Why does need to check the floor and pay attention to hair, dirt and stains? Why do I have to check the stopper?
Final check	Stand at the door and look around to ensure that you have not missed out any area.	Why do I have to double check?
Report defects	To report immediately of any maintenance problem is found while cleaning.	Why do I have to report immediately
