I expect my laundry items to be returned. I lose confidence in the hotel if I receive another guest’s laundry or my items go missing.

TRAINING QUESTIONS

Sorting


  • Understand each line of the laundry list.

  • Make sure each item is marked on the correct place on the garment.

  • Do not use the collar of a shirt or blouse to mark.

Check


  • Fabrics woven in silk, nylon, rayon, 100% polyester, or high-combed wool, should not be sealed directly. 

  • Use a thermo seal flag to prevent damaging the fabrics.

Marking



  • Garments put into washing should be seal-marked; garments put into dry-cleaning should be paper-marked.

  • Make a special mark for:

  • Express service

  • Pressing only service

  • Starching,   (light, medium, heavy)

  • No – pressing

  • Any other specific instruction

Distribution

    


  • To send marked laundry to dry-cleaning or washing area, pressing only service to pressing area.

 1. Do I have to take special care when distributing?

Laundry List Hand-Over


  • The marked laundry should be returned back to the guest service properly for further reference check.

Now ask the trainee to practice the task from start to end to test competency.
