REPLACING BATHROOM AMENITIES

To ensure on every occasion a guestroom bathroom is serviced that any used wet or dry bathroom amenities are replaced to the correct par level.  For checkout rooms all used amenities must be replaced and for occupied rooms dry amenities used each day should be replaced and wet amenities which have less than one third in the bottle should be replaced with a new amenity.  This will ensure our guests will always have a full supply of bathroom amenities.

HOW/ STANDARDS

  • Identify which wet and dry bathroom amenities that have been used by the guest and will require replacement, whilst cleaning the bathroom

  • Retrieve all necessary wet and dry amenities that are required from the housekeeping trolley when you are retrieving the respective amount of linen to be replaced in the bathroom.

  • Have the amenities located in the set position as per the hotel and brand standards and ensure the label is facing in the correct direction as to where the amenity is position.  A set of wet amenities should be placed in the shower area and should be done so after the shower has been cleaned.

  • The soap in an occupied room should be changed after it has been reduced to approximately one quarter its size and a backup soap should be located in the bathroom for the guest should they require one for use earlier.  Ensure the soap dish is cleaned thoroughly for the removal of any soap build up.

  • Any used bathroom amenities, which have not been discarded and are to be removed from the guestroom, such as shampoo, conditioner, bath/shower gel, soap should be placed in a separate area on the housekeeping trolley and taken to housekeeping at the end of the day should the hotel have a recycling program in place for these respective amenities.
