USER HARDWARE MAINTENANCE

Objective:

  1. To make sure all users keep the assigned workstation clean and free from any damage or any other paraphernalia missing.

  2. To make sure all of which come from user error such as spilledd water or fall goods causing hardware malfunction then all the costs incurred to repair users responsibility.

  3. To have the Personal Computer in good working order and in top performance in order for the hotel users to meet their daily tasks



Procedure:

  1. All technical support or computer problems shall be immediately addressed to the IT Manager at all times. No attempt shall be made to contract suppliers or vendors to troubleshot any problem of any personnel computers in hotel. 

  2. It is responsibility of the user to keep his assigned workstation clean and free from any damage or any other paraphernalia missing. It is the user responsibility for the cleanliness and proper working condition of their respective PC.

  3. Any users with laser printers attached shall be responsible for maintaining the Printer Toner Cartridge or report immediately to the IT Manager if it require troubleshooting. Printer toner cartridge shall be request throught the Purchasing Departement.

  4. Exchanging of computer, CPUs, Keyboard, Mouse and other computer paraphernalia is strictly prohibited due to inventory and a possible conflict on the hardware versions.

  5. No relocation of User Computer is allowed without the knowledge of IT Manager due to network compability and cabling.

  6. All user that are allowed to use Diskettes or thumb device shall ensure that the diskettes or thumb drives are Virus-free

  7. All user shall be responsible in keeping their workstations safe from hackers or any other users who will likely be attempting to use the PC to damage any data inside the workstation and system. Users shall be required to activate screen savers with password protection for their own safety

  8. IT Manager rendering of Technical Support to all users will be based on the Urgency and Priority.

  9. No Food and drinks shall be placed near the workstation.

  10. No software or any other utilities shall be installed without the consent and knowledge of the IT Manager. Installing unnecessary software or soft-utilities is bound for conflict on the existing system and networking configuration of the User PC.
