GUEST LAUNDRY PACKING

Guest Expectation : I like it when my Laundry is nicely packed. I don’t get this service at home and it is a special treat for me when staying in an upscale hotel.

STEPS	HOW/ STANDARDS	TRAINING QUESTIONS
Collection	Collect dried garments from tumble dryer. Collect pressed garment from pressing area.	Why do I need to understand each line on the list? Why do I have to collect from 2 different areas?
Tossing	Toss dried garment into pigeon hole according to its marking. Pressed garment is put onto hanger railing according to its marking.	Why is pressed garment put on a hanger?
Folding	Before folding the garments, check the laundry list carefully to find out any instructions for special service.	Why can there be any instruction on folding or hanging?
Quality Check	Check the quality of each garment.  If there is any quality problem, solve it before sending out from the Laundry department.  Problem Solving includes: re-washing re Dry-Cleaning  re spot-cleaning re-pressing full-drying button replacing and mending	Why should I again check on quality? What could be the problem? How can I solve it?
Packing	Garments should be packed before returning to the guests’ room, in accordance with the requests on the Laundry Sheet.  Packing includes:   On-hanger and in-basket. Shirts, undershirts, underpants, socks are to be folded and packed with materials and put in basket. Trousers, blouses, jackets and skirts are to be put on hangers; ties and belts are to be put into stick board then put on hangers. Hangers and basket/box should be neat and clean.	How have the different items to be folded? Can trousers be placed in the Laundry box? 10.How long should the Laundry be kept?

Now ask the trainee to practice the task from start to end to test competency.
