HOW TO CLEAN A GUEST BATHROOM

Guest Expectation:

I expect my Bathroom to be cleaned as this is a hygienic place in which I take bathe and shower. I appreciate the special amenities like scented soaps and extra fluffy towels which I don’t usually get at home.



Why is this task important for you and our guests?

TRAINING QUESTIONS


Toilet bowl



  • Sprinkle toilet bowl cleaner on inner toilet bowl and leave time for it to work. Flush first.

  • Come back and clean toilet bowl later.

Rubbish bins



  • Ensure to empty rubbish bins before cleaning.

  • Put all rubbish in a plastic bag into the trolley.




 


Clean the vanity counter



  • Clean the vanity counter first, see “How to clean vanity top and hand basin” procedure 


  1. What do I do if guests bring along their own toiletries and leave them on the vanity top? (answer:- put them on a face towel)



Clean toilet bowl



  • Continue to clean the toilet bowl. See “How to clean toilet bowl” procedure. “

Clean shower area

Clean walls



  • Thoroughly clean walls by using a sponge and general-purpose cleaner to ensure all dirt and   stains are removed.

  • Rinse thoroughly with water starting from the top of the wall.

  • Dry with a cleaning cloth; ensure that the wall surface is free of dust, stains and water marks.

  • Wipe the top of the partitions with a damp cloth, thoroughly removing dust.

Clean doors and partitions



  • Clean the doors and partitions using a sponge and general-purpose cleaner.  Remove all spots and stains.

  • Rinse with water.


  • Keep the cubicle doors slightly open.




Clean the floor



  • Dry floor if necessary first.

  • Vacuum clean the floor surface with a vacuum cleaner in order to thoroughly remove hair and dust.

  • Mop the floor with general purpose cleaner mixed in warm water.

  • Use scrubbing pad and/or one sided razor with general-purpose cleaner to scrub spots and stains.

  • Scrub the floor with a Hand brush also using general purpose cleaner

  • Scrub the floor, paying special attention to the following areas:

  • floor under wash basin   

  • area around the toilet bowl

  • all edges and corners

  • area behind the bathroom door

  • Put hot water into a bucket.

  • Wipe the floor with a wet mop and hot water to remove chemical.

  • Dry floor surface with a dry mop or dry cleaning cloth.

  • Double check that floor is free from stains, watermarks and hair.

Replenish toilet & tissue paper and vanity boxes and bathroom amenities



  • Clean toilet paper holder.

  • Replenish toilet paper and tissue paper according to standard

  • 2 x Toilet paper 

  • 1 Tissue box      

  • If the toilet roll or the tissue paper is more than half empty, replace with new one.

  • Keep the rest for employee changing room and toilet.
