HOW TO CLEAN A TOILET

Guest Expectation:

I expect the toilet to be cleaned every day. I expect sufficient supplies of toilet paper.

STEPS	HOW/ STANDARDS	TRAINING QUESTIONS
Preparation	Take the toilet brush, sponge, scrubbing pad, cleaning cloth and general-purpose cleaner.	What cleaning cloth do I need to take? Can I take the same cloth for other parts to clean?
Flush the toilet bowl	Flush the toilet.  Pour some all-purpose cleaner around the inner bowl.	Why do I need to flush the toilet?
Clean toilet inner bowl	Scrub toilet inner rim and bowl with toilet brush especially the area under the rim.  If there is a stubborn stain, spray it with toilet bowl cleaner and leave for 5 minutes before scrubbing.	Why do I have to brush the toilet first? What happens if stains are not removed immediately?
Clean toilet cover and seat.	Clean the toilet lid and seat by using all-purpose cleaner and a sponge. Ensure both sides of the lid and seat are cleaned. Pay particular attention to the rubber stoppers. If they are missing, report it to the Housekeeping office. Clean the toilet bowls’ outer rim using a sponge and general purpose cleaner. Pay attention to the hinges. Ensure urine stains or any buildup is thoroughly removed.	On what do I have to take special attention?
Clean the outside part of toilet	Clean the outside of the toilet bowl and base with sponge and general purpose cleaner.  Ensure that all dirt and stains are thoroughly removed.
Rinse toilet cover, seat and outside part of toilet	Wipe all areas thoroughly using a sponge and water. Ensure that all parts are thoroughly cleaned.
Wipe dry	Dry the toilet cover, seat, outside of the toilet and all parts with dry cleaning cloth and ensure that all areas are free of watermarks, stains, dirt and hair. Close the toilet lid when cleaning is completed
