HOW TO CLEAN A WINDOW

Guest Expectation : I expect windows to be sparkling. I pay a good room rate for cleanliness and I expect this in all aspects of the hotel.

STEPS	HOW/ STANDARDS	TRAINING QUESTIONS
Preparation	Prepare all cleaning tools and cleaning material required.	Why do I need to have cleaning material available?
Cleaning	Place condemned cloth under window. Fill bucket with warm water and add glass cleaner. Dip window washer into bucket, lift it up and shake off the excess water. Starting from the top left hand corner, clean the window with washer from left to right in a zigzag manner.  Apply a little pressure so that stains stuck on surface can be removed. Place the squeegee horizontally on the window and drag it downwards from top to bottom. If the window is narrow, place the squeegee  vertically at the top of  the window and drag  it from left to right	Do I need to clean the window? Can I fill the bucket as well with hot water? How do I clean the window? In which direction do I have to clean? Why do I need to put pressure on when cleaning? How to I have to place the squeegee? What do I have to do, when the window is narrow?
Drying	Wipe any excess solution on the frame with a leather cloth. Dry around the window frame and corners.	Do I need to do the same movement when drying as I do when cleaning? What equipment do I need to dry?
Storage	Clean and dry tools and return them to the store. Place equipment and chemicals neatly on the shelving allotted.	Why do I have to dry the material? Where do I need to store the chemicals?
Report defects	To report immediately of any maintenance problem is found while cleaning.	Why do I have to report immediately?
