Guest Expectation: I expect cushions, upholstery and materials in public areas to be cleaned to a high standard, particularly those in high traffic areas like lobby bar areas.

Preparation



  • Prepare all cleaning tools and cleaning material. 

  • Remove items if necessary. 

  • Prepare the scrubbing machine, shampoo brush and shampoo tank.

  • Dilute carpet shampoo with warm water.

  • Put “Work in progress sign” in place.

Cleaning


  • Vacuum the area to be shampooed.

  • Start shampooing the carpet from the far end of the room, section by section.

  • Run the machine sideways; pull the release lever to spray shampoo onto the carpet. Adjust the knob on the foam-generator to control the foam.,

  • Use overlapping strokes to ensure all surfaces are covered.

  • When each section is completed, vacuum it with the wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

  • Use a damp cloth to wipe the wooden skirting and bottom part of furniture.

  • Place blower facing the area to dry.

Precaution


  • Ensure tank does not run dry. 

  • Ensure the correct dilution rate. Too much water will result in over-wetting of the carpet.

  • Too much foam shampoo will cause the carpet to look dull.

Finish cleaning


  • When the job is complete, empty the shampoo tank, clean and dry.

  • Clean all tools and equipment and dry before storing away.

  • STOP USING THE MACHINE IF ANY SMELL OR BURN ACCURES!
