MATTRESS TURNING PROCEDURE

Guest Expectation:

It is important that the mattress is turned regularly, as this has to do with my comfort and health. Mattresses which become too soft if not routinely turned are bad for backs.

STEPS	HOW/ STANDARDS	TRAINING QUESTIONS
Turning schedule	Note the turning schedule on the mattress, month per month, side by side.	Why does the Floor Supervisor issue the report? Where is the schedule written?
Remove items on or near the bed	Remove any items that are on the bed or nearby. Be careful with bedside lamp when turning.	What do I have to move when turning the mattress?
Responsibility	Housekeeping office will inform about the schedule. Each attendant is responsible for their section.	Who tells me when to turn?
Check	Repeat the cycle. Make sure the mattress is placed accurately and correctly on the box spring. Always check the mattress for stains and clean if necessary. Floor Supervisor to carry out spot-checks on mattresses to ensure that they are correctly placed and clean.	Why does the mattress need to be properly set on the box spring?
Maintenance	If it is needed, ensure damaged mattresses get repaired immediately. Report damages to the Floor Supervisor and he/she reports these defects to HK.	Why do I need to report damages?
