Meal Allowance During Fasting Month

POLICY

The company will pay fasting allowance during fasting month (Bulan Ramadhan) to Moslem staff in compensation of duty meal.

PURPOSE

Providing clear guidance in the fasting allowance duty meal to avoid misuse or miscalculate

PROCEDURES

Observing fasting (Sawm) is one of the five pillars of Islam, the basic tenets of the faith. All Muslims are obliged to fast during Ramadan.

Fasting involves abstinence from food, drink, chewing and smoking from dawn till dusk. At dusk, Muslims traditionally break their fast with dates and water before proceeding to eat a meal.

Fasting takes places during the month of Ramadan. Ramadan does not correspond neatly to any Gregorian months due to its method of calculation. It changes from year to year by about ten days.

1. The employee who are eligible to get the fasting allowance :

   1. The Moslem staffs who fast and work in morning shift and will finish his/her duty before the break fasting time.

2. Human Resources Department will announce the date of the fasting period

3. Employee who is fasting should register their name at the Timekeeper.

4. The value of each fasting allowance will depend on the meal cost of employee canteen at the existing period and non taxable.

5. Employee who work for middle (the shift ended before 6 p.m.), afternoon / evening and night shift is not entitled for the fasting coupon even they are fasting during the day.

6. During fasting month, Supper (Makan sebelum waktu Subuh) will be served from 02.30 AM up to the IMSAK time (10 minutes before Sholat Subuh).
