HOW TO SCRUB STONE FLOORS

Guest Expectation: I expect floors to be clean in a hotel.  Special care needs to be taken on stone floors, as dirt cannot easily be seen on this material.

STEPS	HOW/ STANDARDS	TRAINING QUESTIONS
Preparation equipment	Prepare a bucket of diluted all-purpose cleaner in hot water Put “Work in progress sign” in place.	Why do I need this equipment?
Prepare the area	Place the “Work in progress” sign and block the area with divider stands. Move existing furniture from the area involved. Dust the floor starting from the far end of the area. Pour the diluted all-purpose cleaner into the water tank of the scrubber.	Why do I need this sign? Can I not clean around the furniture? Do I need to dust first before scrubbing? What cleaning material do I need?
Scrub the floor	Adjust the level of the scrubbing machine handle so that it is most comfortable for you。 Apply the Solution by pulling the chemical release handle on the water tank while you are scrubbing the floor. Scrub the floor area by area. Repeat the process in other affected sections until the entire floor has been scrubbed. Overlap the edges of the scrubbed surface so that no streaking occurs. After the entire floor has been scrubbed and dried, use clean water to mop the area. Use a wet and dry pick-up machine to dry the floor after the scrubbing Return the furniture to its original place and remove the floor sign when the floor is dry	How can I put solution into the water tank? Why do I need to overlap sections? Why do I need clean water after scrubbing?
Store equipment	Clean and dry the equipment then return the equipment and supplies to the PA storeroom. Hose or flush the scrubbing pad with clean water, then hang the scrubbing pad on the wall or in the designated location in your hotel.	Why do I have to store equipment properly and always on the same place?
Report defects	Report maintenance problems found while cleaning immediately.	Why do I have to report immediately?
