I want carpet to be clean and soft when I walk on it with bare feet.  Along the corridor, I expect working material properly positioned, so I can walk easily to my room.

Approaching the guest room



  • When you approach the guest room with your trolley and vacuum cleaner, place the vacuum cleaner  and the trolley at the side of the door  before knocking 3 times at the guest door and Announcing: “Housekeeping”.“Housekeeping”.



  1. Why do I have to knock 3 times?



Positioning the vacuum cleaner and trolley when entering the guest room.



  • Put vacuum cleaner upright and lean it against the side wall.

  • Place the trolley right in front of the guestroom door.

  • Position the trolley very near to the door.

  • Do not leave the trolley in the center of the corridor.

Preparation



  • Make sure the machine is working and the accessories are ready, i.e. hose, nozzle, flat nozzle and round brush.



  1. Which accessory do I use to clean furniture?


Vacuum



  • Pick up pieces of paper, trash or other items, i.e. paper clip, etc., from the floor

  • On carpets and rugs, check for stains and loose threads. Cut loose threads with scissors.

  • Remove stains using “Spot clean procedure”.

  • Plug in and switch on the vacuum cleaner. Do not run the cord over a desk.

  • Vacuum the floor carpet, starting from the inner corner of the room, using overlapping strokes. Pay attention to areas under the sofa and table.

  • Vacuum the floor skirting and edges using a crevice head and a round brush. 

  • Vacuum sofa cushion, chair seat removing the cushion if necessary.  Use round brush to vacuum cornice or wood carving

  • Be careful not to push against furniture because it will cause damage (scratch and scuff marks).

  • Move loose furniture items when vacuuming and replace them when finished.

  • Do never vacuum the bed.

Defects are to be reported immediately such as any maintenance problem found while cleaning.
